Brad Winney
Chief Executive Officer, nClouds
I have a deep background in the startup ecosystem having co-founded and run several successful startups and most recently, run a $1B ARR portion of AWS Startup organization. During my AWS tenure, I was a founding team leader tasked with orchestratrating the creation of AWS’s Global Startup Organization (SUP). As part of that effort I led a team that hired and managed a 180+ multi-disciplinary stakeholders focused on helping thousands of startups build on AWS, raise funds, hone their GTM strategies and progressively grow their businesses to an exit. Before AWS, I co-founded Panopto, Inc a market leader in enterprise video management solutions for higher education with over 500 major universities as clients. Before that (and leading to it) I became the CEO of ClariFI transforming it from a failing life-sciences startup into the market-leading provider of portfolio construction and analytics software for Wall Street’s largest investment banks and fund managers leading to its acquisition (McGraw-Hill / Standard & Poor’s in 2007). Previous to that I had the chance to lead USConnect, Inc’s. transformation from a loosely knit, $35m VAR network to an integrated national infrastructure services powerhouse with over $284M in annual revenue leading to its acquisition by IKON.My side hustle(s) includes become expert in applying technology for environmental purposes including leading multi-disciplinary teams from Stanford University, NOAA, Cornell, IFAW and EDC to launch innovative mobile and web applications designed to help protect various endangered species and habitats including Whale Alert (mobile technology protecting critically endangered right whales) and Ocean Tracks (big data for K-12, higher education students).
I hold a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Georgia (but ever never written a line of code, professionally, in my career)...and when I'm not addition road-tripping with my two 80lb Pit mixes, I'm an avid snowboarder, a reformed Cross-fitter and an active supporter of SuitUp Nation, The Achievement Centers and Taking Stock in Children.
