Dan Sommer is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and advisor with a passion for building and scaling impactful businesses. Over his career, he has founded nine companies and nonprofits, served as CEO five times, and led organizations through rapid growth, acquisitions, and transformation. Today, as Founder and CEO of 10X Impact, he advises high-potential CEOs and founders on scaling ventures and navigating growth.
Dan is best known for founding Trilogy Education, which partnered with top universities to bridge the digital skills gap. Under his leadership, Trilogy expanded to 50 university partners, 55 locations, and $150M+ in revenue, serving over 50,000 students before its $750M acquisition in 2019.
Previously, Dan was President of Global Education at Zeta Global (NYSE: ZETA), leading 5X revenue growth, and CEO of Study Interactive, expanding online education to students in 153 countries. He also founded Caridan Marketing Labs, which was acquired by Zeta.
A Cornell graduate (BS) with a Master’s from NYU (MS), Dan is committed to education, mentorship, and impact-driven leadership. He serves as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Wake Forest University, helping students develop entrepreneurial skills. Dan is also Board Treasurer for Friends of United Hatzalah, supporting financial sustainability for a volunteer-based emergency response network that saves lives and strengthens communities, and serves on the Board of CSS (Community Security Service), helping to advance training and education initiatives that empower individuals with critical security skills.
