There are three leadership principles I try my best to follow:
‣ Lead by example. I personally value that others can look to me with confidence that I will do my best across all endeavors. I expect others in my organization to lead by example as well.
‣ Always be learning and pushing myself. I try never to become complacent or too comfortable. I challenge myself and all our teams to learn and seek to improve continually.
‣ Connect with empathy and lead with compassion. My goal is to always understand what the other person is feeling. With this in mind, I’ll aim to help the individual while also ensuring we are not biased and solving for the greater good.
Here are a few principles I keep in mind when it comes to my working style:
‣ Minimize Assumptions: Ask questions to understand the complete picture, considering our dynamic environment and impact on customers and employees.
‣ Be Comfortable Being Uncomfortable: Pushing ourselves can feel uncomfortable, but that's where personal growth and learning happen.
‣ Connect Personally: Beyond just work goals, I want to understand what drives and motivates you, and what you're working towards personally.
‣ Learn from Lessons: Even when we miss the mark, there are valuable lessons to apply to future decisions and build a stronger foundation of first principles.
‣ Commitment and Execution: When I commit to something, you can count on me to do my part. I expect the same trust and accountability in return.
‣ Ask Questions: I believe asking good, relevant questions is key to being an empathetic leader, connecting on a human level, and uncovering new possibilities.
